Our History - In June 1978, a group of Quadriplegics in Johannesburg decided to establish QASA as a national coordinating structure representing all Quadriplegic associations in South Africa. Since then, QASA has grown to include six regional associations (Eastern Cape, Gauteng North, Gauteng South, KwaZulu-Natal, North West and Western Cape) and a membership of more than 6500 Quadriplegics and Paraplegics. Over the years, QASA has initiated, extended and refined its services and programmes to meet the needs of its members as well as the disability sector.
